Red Wing Service

We provide complete repairs with original parts directly from the Red Wing factory and work closely with the Denim Heads store. You can send or bring your worn-out Red Wings to us with confidence, and we'll restore them to their former glory. Once we receive your boots, you will receive an email with details about the order, estimated repair time, and approximate cost. Don’t forget to include your name, phone number, and the address where you’d like the boots to be returned.

How do we take care of your boots? We pay special attention to the soles, most often replacing the Traction Tred outsole, which is a simpler repair, but we can also handle complete sole replacements. We will remove the outsole, sole, heel, and sometimes the insole. We replace the cork insole, install the arch, stitch the midsole to the welt using the Goodyear welt method, and either glue or hand stitch the outsole (Vibram Lug / Roccia / Nitrile Cork). We also attach heel nails to the inside and outside of the heel. Unlike typical repairs, we keep the boots stretched on their lasts, ensuring the upper fits perfectly again, allowing precise sole work, and providing even pressure on the entire insole when we press the soles in place. After the sole is glued, we trim it and grind the profile, then we finish it off with a special wax that contains a treatment for this type of leather.

We also check the upper, inspecting the stitching, hardware, any cracks on the leather, potential tears on the tongue, top lining, and wear on the inner heel. The boots will be cleaned, stretched, and oiled, and we’ll make any necessary repairs.

Your Red Wings can be like new, or even more unique! If you’d like, we can replace the sole with a style used on other Red Wing models, customizing them to your own taste. We can also attach a special sole, add multiple layers, or use a colorful sole, etc. Of course, we can also re-sole Red Wing boots using components from other brands.
